Dr. Yi Guo is Global Slurry R&D Director for Advanced Cleans and Slurry Technologies (ACST) at Qnity, where he leads a global team of formulation scientists developing polishing slurry solutions for advanced CMP processes. He earned his Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from Drexel University in 2007, then joined the Rohm & Haas Electronic Materials CMP Slurry group, where he began his career formulating copper barrier slurries. Since then, Yi has led CMP slurry projects spanning ceria STI, ILD, tunable FEOL, and, most recently, advanced W bulk and buff slurries. Along the way, he grew from researcher to hands-on problem-solver to the "go-to" person. His work produced a series of innovations that established his reputation in the CMP slurry field, and he is an inventor or co-inventor on more than 45 granted patents. In 2024, Yi received the DuPont Pederson Award and the E&I Most Valuable IP & Innovation award.
