Dr. Chiayen Li serves as the head of AI project technology research and development at Nexchip Semiconductor Corporation and is a member of its Al Promotion Committee. Dr. Li holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA. Throughout his career, he has held senior technical, operational, and management positions across various sectors including telecommunications, optoelectronics, and electronics.
In his previous roles, Dr. Li led teams in establishing three lighthouse factories, which are recognized as industry benchmarks and pioneers in smart manufacturing. During his tenure at Foxconn, he was responsible for the Zhengzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, focusing on the deep integration of Al technology with Zhengzhou's manufacturing sector. This experience laid a solid foundation for his current efforts in advancing smart manufacturing at Nexchip.
At Nexchip, Dr. Li is dedicated to promoting the integration of Al with semiconductor manufacturing. Through technological practical innovation and exploration, he aims to contribute to the success of intelligent manufacturing at Nexchip and within China's semiconductor industry.
In 2025, Dr. Li was honored with the IEEE Industry Achievement Award and serves as a core member of the SEMI Smart Manufacturing Committee.
