Dr. Xinyun Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor, Principal Investigator, and Ph.D. Advisor at the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST), ShanghaiTech University. He officially joined the PMICC Center at ShanghaiTech in March 2026. Dr. Zhang received his B.S. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2018, his M.S. degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2020, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2025, where he subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher.
Dr. Zhang's research interests primarily focus on AI-driven Electronic Design Automation (EDA), with a particular emphasis on cutting-edge directions such as chip physical design and design for manufacturability (DFM). In recent years, he has published over 20 academic papers in top-tier international journals and conferences in the fields of EDA and AI, including IEEE TCAD, DAC, ICCAD, DATE, ASPDAC, CVPR, and AAAI. He also received the Best Paper Nomination at MLCAD 2022. Furthermore, he has been regularly invited to serve as a reviewer for authoritative international journals and conferences in the EDA field, such as TCAD, TODAES, DAC, and ICCAD.
