讲师简介 / Speaker Bio Dr. Xiaoxi He is a Principal Research Associate at IDTechEx, where she has worked since 2014 on technology scouting and benchmarking, market research and analysis, and player assessment across emerging technologies in semiconductor-related fields. She provides business insights and evaluations to support strategic decision-making for industry stakeholders. Xiaoxi holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge, following an M.Sc. in advanced materials from the University of Ulm (Germany) and a B.Sc. in Physics from Shandong University (China). She has authored peer-reviewed journal publications and regularly presents on topics related to semiconductors and photonics. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and English. 摘要 / Abstract This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of Silicon Photonics and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), addressing the "why now" of their adoption amidst growing bandwidth demands. We examine the foundational technology landscape, including key components, diverse material platforms, manufacturing maturity, and performance benchmarking against alternative technologies. Moving to applications and the market landscape, the talk places special emphasis on Co-Packaged Optics (CPO). We will analyze specific CPO architectures and integration solutions to demonstrate how Silicon Photonics serves as the critical enabler and bandwidth engine for next-generation AI infrastructure. |
