摘要 / Abstract
China continues to advance rapidly into the big data activities with 5G smartphones being the most important edge device. Total 5G smartphones sold globally in 2021 will be 578 million.
The semiconductor consumption per person in China was approximately $18 in 2010 and will be almost $200 in 2030 indicating the importance of semiconductors in China, and there are similar patterns in other countries.
The latest semiconductor designs in China are at 5nm indicating the importance of access to advanced technology supply ecosystems as well as for mature technologies.
Supply chains for key components need to be global, and it is important to ensure that barriers in this arena are removed.
