| Dr. Jay Guoxu Liu is CTO and EVP of ShineOn (Beijing) Technology Co. He received his Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He was also a graduate from Peking University. Dr. Liu’s technology expertise includes semiconductor IC, laser, and LED device and packaging. He is specializing on high power density LED where he developed leading edge high brightness LED packages by solving thermal, optical problems and through material and process innovation. Dr. Liu worked for 15 years in the US before returning to China to co-found ShineOn. He was an engineering director at Luminus Devices, and a packaging director of Nortel Networks. He also held member of technical staff positions at Bell Labs, Intel and GM’s Delphi. Dr. Liu has more than 40 journal and international conference papers and holds over 30 patents in the fields of LED and optoelectronics. He won the “Thousand Talents Program” award and is a member of expert panel for 863 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. | |
