Yu-Chuan Yang is the Deputy General Manager of MediaTek's Internet of Things business unit, overseeing an expanding IoT/wearables business, as well as product strategy. Since joining the company in 2001, Yang has made critical contributions to many of MediaTek’s key mobile phone applications and platforms, and was involved notably with bringing Mediatek's first feature phone to global consumers. Prior to leading the IoT & wearables product team, Yang helped drive new business development at the company. Yu-Chuan earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Central University Taiwan. Abstract: Starting from the emergence of internet in 90’ era to the widely usage of mobile internet nowadays, there is no doubt that the next industry trend will be Internet of Things, tens of billions of electronic devices connected together through cloud. Although IoT opportunities are emerging from specific vertical to consumer-oriented, from personal, to home, and so on, almost happening in every application domains, the challenges are huge ranging from different business models, shift in value chain, to privacy and security concern. Despite the opportunities and challenges of IoT industry, Mr. Yang will highlight how MediaTek’s platform solutions can work with MEMS industry to meet the various need of IoT applications in his speech. |
