Nuo Xu is currently a staff research scientist at Samsung US R&D Headquarters at San Jose, California, USA. He received the B.S. degree in Microelectronics from Peking University, Beijing, China in 2008, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley, in 2010 and in 2012, respectively. He has been with Synopsys Inc., Mountain View, California, USA and imec, Leuven, Belgium.

Dr. Xu's research interests are emerging semiconductor logic and memory devices, alternative computing architectures (machine learning hardware accelerators, approximate computing and quantum computing), and electronic design automation (EDA) for emerging technologies, etc. He has published over 80 technical papers and held 8 U.S. patents. Dr. Xu has served on the Technical Program Committees for the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM), IEEE SOI-3D-Sub-threshold (S3S) Conference, IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), etc.
