Dr. Rong Chen

Dr. Rong Chen received the B.S. degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2001, the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University in 2005 and 2006 respectively. She is a Professor with the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and by courtesy of School of integrated circuits, school of optical and electronic information, and School of China-EU Institute for clean and renewable energy, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.

Dr. Chen's current research interests include the design and fabrication of atomic-scale structure-properties of ultrathin films and nanostructures in electronics, energy and environmental applications. She has published over 170 peer-reviewed journal papers and conference proceedings with >5,000 citations, three edited books and two book chapters, >80 issued Chinese invention patents and >10 international patents, designated convenor for ISO/TC 107 WG5 of atomic layer deposition. >80 invited presentations (including tutorial and plenary talks). Dr. Chen is a Senior Member of IEEE, CMES, CSMNT, life member of ECS, etc. She is the Editor for IJEM, Physica B: condensed matter and an Editor Board Member for six scientific journals, and corresponding expertise of Engineering. She also served as Guest Editor for three journal special issues, Chair or Committee Member for six international conferences, Reviewer for >60 prestigious journals.
