Prof. Wang Xi graduated in Tsinghua University in 1987, and obtained master degree and PhD from Shanghai Institute of Metallurgy, CAS in 1990 and 1993, respectively. He worked as a visiting professor in Australia and Germany in 1994 and 1996. Right now he serves as Director General of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, CAS. Prof. Wang also serves as the deputy chief scientist of the China National Science and Technology Major Project of Semiconductor Equipment and Process for ULSI Manufacturing.
Prof. Wang Xi' research interests cover advanced microelectronic materials and novel IC processes, he has published over 300 papers on academic journals and scientific conferences. He was granted the first prize of the National S & T Progress Award in 2006, and was elected as Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009.
