据SEMI中国最新统计，中国目前拥有世界上最多在产和在建的LED外延、芯片制造厂。2011年，中国新增MOCVD安装量将问鼎全球，预计新增MOCVD将达到400余台！到2015年，中国MOCVD安装总量将超1500台，中国LED外延和芯片产能将跃居全球第一！而中国目前LED封装厂则高达1000余家，中国LED制造业整体规模已居全球之首。
