Dr. Tomi T. LI
Taiwan National Central University

Currently Dr. Li is Professor at Electrical Engineering of Taiwan National Central University. Prior to that, Dr. Li was an Executive Senior Director of Applied Materials before he retired recently 3/15/07 from Applied Materials, USA. More recently he was also under a funded Elite project of NARL and has been a consultant at ITRI and MIRD of Taiwan since March of 2008. He has worked and held various senior/executive technical, business management and product positions in the past 16 years in Applied Materials, USA including Technology and Product General Manager in Applied Materials China, Directors of Product groups of PVD, CVD, Director and manager of Technology, Business Development and Marketing for Asia and Globe since 1991. Prior to these positions, he worked for Digital Equipment Company as a Principal IC Process Engineer and later as a Manager for 6 years since 1985. He also worked for IBM Research Lab. as a Research Scientist in thin film area for 1 year in 1985 and as a postdoctor at Purdue University for 2.5 years since 1982. Overall, Dr. Li has more than 20 years in Semiconductor industry. Dr. Li transferred 0.18um to Taiwan TSMC, UMC in early stage from Applied Materials to establish the IC foundation in Taiwan as well as he transferred 90nm to SMIC of China in 2001-2004. Recently, he involves Solar Silicon Thin Film equipment and their process and solar cell development at NCU. In the past, Dr. Li was invited and gave many talks in various international conferences overseas and universities /institutes in the world. He was selected as an international conference chairman i.e. ECS 2007 and proceeding editor few times in the past. He also a part-time visiting professor at San Jose State University in 1999-2000.He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Inorganic Chemistry and Materials in 1982. He had 40 published papers.
