摘要

The last decade has witnessed the integration of many devices into the smart phone. Digital music players, gaming devices, digital cameras and camcorders, personal navigation devices, and personal media players, have all but turned into apps running on the smart phone. While this is in large part due to advances in compute and storage capabilities, more capable sensors have also contributed to this transformation. Increasingly capable image sensors, microphones, GPS, and inertial sensors, have turned the smart phone into a sensor rich platform, collecting and transmitting ambient data. This presentation will explore the new world of ambient computing brought about by new sensor rich platforms that will bring about new capabilities and business models in every aspect of our lives.
