Dr. Shichang ZOU

Zou Shichang graduated from Jiaotong University and received PhD degree from Moscow Nonferrous Metal Institute. He had been a visiting professor at Fraunhofer Society in Munich, Germany.

From the beginning of 1970s, he conducted a systematic study of the ion beam solid interactions and used ion beams for doping, synthesizing, fabrication and surface layer analysis of semiconductor materials. He published more than 200 scientic papers and won 14 prizes including National First Grade Invention prize. He is an honorary international committee member of the conference of Ion Beam Modification of Materials (IBMM).

In the 1990s, he contributed to the development the Mainland Chinese semiconductor industry. He participated in the establishment of several IC companies, including Shanghai Huahong NEC Electronics Co., Shanghai Simcomix Electronics, DuPont Photomasks and Shanghai Ericsson Simtek Electronics Co.

He is the Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently, he is serving as Chairman of Shanghai IC Industry Association and Vice Director of Informatization Advisory Committee to Shanghai Municipality.

He had been Chairman of Shanghai Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Huahong NEC Electronic Co. From 1983 to1997, he served as Director at Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology (former Shanghai Institute of Metallurgy). Besides, he held the position of Chairman of Shanghai Pudong Association for Science and Technology from 2001 to 2006.
