In this position, Ling directs the company’s operations and sets corporate development strategies in China. Specifically, he is tasked with localizing Mentor as an international company in China and providing customized products and services for Chinese customers in addition to building efficient and professional sales and technical teams. His responsibility also includes expanding the company’s sales network to serve more customers in China.

April 2010 - July 2015: Strategic Accounts Director, Mentor Graphics China
Ling took the leader role of managing the businesses of foundry plant and design service company in China. He was involved in providing consulting and technical service management for the R&D activities and core software solutions of SMIC’s 65nm to 28nm and lower processes as well as the RET/OPC, DFM and Yield-Enhancement of HLMC's 55nm to 28nm processes, which helped drive the production, development and advanced processes for strategic customers.

January 2003 - March 2010: Senior Key Accounts Manager, Mentor Graphics China
During this period, Ling took responsibility for semiconductor accounts in East China, including fabs, design companies and system manufacturers, focusing on customers of advanced foundries. Ling was also involved in managing the sales and technical services regarding the development and key solutions of SMIC’s 0.13 μm to 65nm processes (centered on RET/OPC, DFM, physical layout verification and yield improvement solutions), resulting in the leadership position for Mentor Graphics among Chinese wafer manufacturers.
